DYLI | Gold Aurum Florida 1 Goldback Note (24K)
The Florida 1 Goldback Note is the sixth release of the Aurum Mint’s Goldback Notes Series. Goldback notes, made with 24k gold, serve as a voluntary, spendable currency accepted by select vendors in participating U.S. states. While not federally recognized as legal tender, merchants may honor them based on their assigned monetary value. Since the Utah Goldback’s debut in 2019, the series has grown to feature Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, and now Florida, each highlighting a unique design. It is standard for all Golback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure symbolizing a particular virtue. The Florida 1 Goldback introduces Harmonia (Harmony), a Spanish settler surrounded by symbols of nature, culture, and history from Florida’s early colonization. The design highlights St. Augustine, the oldest European settlement in the U.S., and the Castillo de San Marcos, a fort symbolizing the settlers’ resolve. Native flora, such as the sabal palm, orange tree, and orange blossom, showcase Florida’s natural beauty and agricultural heritage, while a Spanish galleon honors the bravery of explorers. Every element, from the flamingo to the orange blossom, celebrates harmony with the environment and the principle of “honor in discovery.” The “1” monetary denomination is engraved beside “FLORIDA GOLDBACK.” The note’s weight and metal content are at the bottom. The note displays design elements on the obverse, keeping the reverse blank and only mirroring what was imprinted on the obverse.
